Blue star joining Mamma Mia! The Party at the O2 this month

Blue’s Antony Costa will be having the time of his life as the new addition to the cast of Mamma Mia! The Party at the O2 from the end of August.

Costa will take on the role of lead character Nikos, owner of Nikos Taverna, performing alongside a cast that includes Kimberley Powell as Kate, and Molly Cleere as Konstantina.

The experience combines ABBA’s hit songs with a new story set on the island of Skopelos and sees Bjorn Ulvaeus, a member of the world-renowned band, as the executive producer.

Costa’s addition to the cast comes at opportune timing as the 50th anniversary of ABBA’s monumental Eurovision Song Contest win with the hit song ‘Waterloo’ in 1974 is next year.

The Blue star said: “Being a massive ABBA fan myself, I cannot wait to get stuck into such a fun project and immerse myself into the world that Björn Ulvaeus and Sandi Toksvig have so masterfully crafted.”

Costa, alongside his band members, won the Brit Award for Best Pop Act in 2003.

Blue are still touring and have recently completed an arena tour across the UK.

After high demand, tickets for Mamma Mia! The Party, are available to book up to March 2024.

The partygoers can purchase one of two packages: the general admission, costing £99 per person, or the premium package, from £200 per person.

The general admission ticket comes with a traditional Greek four-course meal, a welcome drink, and a night of song and dance. All guests can request either a vegetarian or vegan alternative menu.

After dining like the Greeks and watching the immersive performance of Costa and his cast members, the evening is extended with a 1970s disco, encouraging guests to sing and party to ABBA’s nostalgic tunes.

Mamma Mia! The Party has a 4.5 out of 5 rating on TripAdvisor.

Tickets are available to purchase from www.mammamiatheparty.co.uk
