Armed police shot a man reportedly brandishing a firearm in Greenwich this afternoon.
Officers were called at 2.31pm after multiple reports to 999 of a man with a firearm on Creek Road.
A police firearm was discharged and the man sustained a gunshot injury.
He was treated at the scene and taken to hospital, and police are awaiting an update on his condition.
No other injuries were reported.
Cordons remain in place and police are asking members of the public to avoid the area.
An investigation is currently in early stages and police said there does not appear to be an ongoing threat to the wider public.
The Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed of the incident.
