The best places in Greenwich to brunch this spring

Spring is here and with it, a Sunday morning phenomenon that is always better in the sunshine, so here are eight of the best places to go for brunch in Greenwich.

Grind

Grind is an all-day restaurant and cocktail bar in the heart of historic Greenwich, close to Greenwich Market and the Cutty Sark. 

Their scrummy weekend brunch menu runs on Saturdays (12pm-5pm) and Sundays (12pm-6pm). 

The menu ranges from a full English breakfast to Korean fried chicken sandwiches. 

Choose from their delicious range of cocktails, which includes Grind Espresso Martini, Siloah Old Fashioned, Winter Margarita, Northern Lights and more. 

Or you can have a Bottomless Brunch which is available before 5pm and is 90 minutes of as much prosecco as you can (responsibly) drink for £16. 

You can add a portion of invisible chips for £3 and Grind will match it in donations to Choose Love, a charity doing whatever it takes to help refugees and displaced people from the crisis in Ukraine.

Slug and Lettuce O2

The Slug and Lettuce O2, firmly believe that brunch is one of the most important meals of the day.

On arrival, you will be invited to choose your food & drink options from their bottomless menu. 

From only £30 per person, perhaps go for the Pornstar Pancakes (V), a Slug & Lettuce favourite. 

Choose from a wide drinks menu, prosecco by the glass or mimosas, Aperol spritz, Bloody Marys or even go for a Virgin Mary.

Royal Teas

This popular local café is full of individual charm and character that is a perfect spot after a stroll up Royal Hill. 

Royal Teas offers delicious healthy brunch options – plus sweet treats like homemade cakes and vegan ice cream sandwiches.

There’s a large selection of coffee beans and tea varieties on offer, that can be ordered alongside one of the all-day breakfasts.

There are plenty of options at Royal Teas, and it’s easy to see why the locals think this is one of the best brunch options in Greenwich.

The Pavilion Café 

You’ll find the recently refurbished Pavilion Café at the top of the hill by the Royal Observatory in Greenwich Park.  

When the weather is warm you can make the most of the large garden at the front and rear of the building.

Their lunch menu includes freshly made stone-baked pizzas, soup, sandwiches and hearty hot dishes.

There’s a wide variety of cakes or traditional English cream tea for an afternoon treat.

Heap’s Sausages 

Looking for more of a quick brunch on the go? Heap’s is the hidden gem of Greenwich. 

Tucked away in a small side street, just around the corner from Greenwich Park, you’ll find the magical home of Heap’s.
