A new christmas gifts competition has been announced by TfL to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
Transport for London (TfL) is marking the end of its 25th anniversary year with a free prize draw, where participants can win gifts such as tickets to see a Christmas show or ice skating at The Queen’s House Ice Rink.
To enter the competition, customers need to explain what they love about Christmas in London and which gift they would like.
Emma Strain, Transport for London’s customer director, said: “We wanted to mark the end of our celebrations with a range of festive gifts for our customers to explore London, that have so generously been donated by the amazing attractions participating.”

These gifts include tickets to the Nutcracker at the London Coliseum, afternoon tea onboard a Christmas lights tour bus, a VIP champagne experience on the London Eye and many more.
Alongside the competition, TfL has prepared free festive events for families to attend.
For example, every afternoon from 8 – 12 December, there will be school children carolling by the platforms at Canary Wharf DLR station.
A DLR treasure hunt has been organised, which will run from 15 December to 2 January, where players will have to hunt down clues in nine stations along the line to potentially win a prize.
The participating stations include, Tower Gateway, West India Quay, Canary Wharf, Greenwich, Island Gardens, Mudchute, Royal Victoria, Pontoon Dock, London City Airport and Woolwich Arsenal.
Several newly-wrapped trains, buses and other modes of transport have also hit the town in celebration of TfL’s anniversary, and their changes over the 25 years.
Strain said: “We’ve been celebrating the development of London’s transport network — and the thousands of colleagues who keep millions of customers moving around London every day as part of our 25th anniversary campaign.”
The new wraps celebrate customer improvements such as the extension of the northern line and the introduction of Oyster cards while TfL’s newest ‘Mind the Gap’ podcast series explains the history of the transport network since 2000.
To enter, apply either through tfl.gov.uk/TfL25Xmas or send a letter by midnight on the 7 December.
Postal entries should be sent to TfL Press Office, Transport for London, 11th Floor, Palestra, 197 Blackfriars Road, London, SE1 8NJ.
