The Kerfield Arms in Camberwell has quickly become a local favourite after visitors flocked to the new pub following its opening two weeks ago.
After a year-long search, owners Adam Symonds and Rob Tecwyn chose the former Crooked Well site and brought acclaimed head chef Jay Styler with them.
The duo already ran The Baring in Islington and Symonds could not be happier with their start to life at this location as well.
Symonds said: “We didn’t know Camberwell too well, but we’ve been here constantly for six months now, and I think it’s a great area.
“What we do is a good fit here.”

Symonds and Tecwyn revived the venue’s original 1863 name of The Kerfield Arms and retained a stripped-back aesthetic throughout.
The compact menu features favourites from The Baring and has already gained attention in its new home.
Symonds said: “We cook very seasonally, and when something’s no longer available, the menu shifts accordingly.”
Dishes are bold, seasonal, and Turkish-influenced, with standouts including Yorkshire hogget with violet artichokes and cuttlefish and lardo shish.
Sunday roasts, including Ibérico pork belly and charcoal-grilled Vendée chicken, are set to become a signature.
Symonds emphasised the kitchen’s focus on quality and detail.
He said: “We make everything here, and even bake our own bread.”

The weekday lunch deal offers mains for £12 or £15 with a pint or glass of wine.
The drinks list is predominantly local: Lost & Grounded brews the house lager, Five Points XPA is available on cask, and the wine list leans toward low-intervention styles.
Guests can expect a rotating selection of seasonal cocktails.
The pub has a large bar area for drinks and walk-ins, and a relaxed dining room for lunch and dinner bookings.
A private dining room upstairs seats up to 25 guests.
Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are recommended.
The Kerfield Arms is located at 16 Grove Lane, SE5 8SY.
