An art studio in London Bridge offers relaxed painting workshops where participants are encouraged to reconnect with the ‘childlike joy of creating’.
In a post-pandemic and screen-addicted world, Art Social Club founder Jana De Vos believes in the power of rediscovering creativity in adulthood for a healthier, happier life.
Jana said: “I really believe creativity is magic, it leaves a little bit of magic, like a little sprinkle of magic every time someone comes to the studio.”
Opening in 2020, Jana was finally able to launch her nine year dream to gather a community of people of different ages, skill sets, and experience to connect over art – without screens.
Jana specified that her participants remain off their phones in her classes to ensure focus and attention on the art.
That isn’t to say participants must be creating world-class standards of art, it simply ensures that there is more of a focus in the moment.
There are many health benefits to painting: it encourages positive thinking, provides stress relief and lowers cortisol.
She said: “In the future, my hope would be that we have art integrated into our lives, just in general, as part of a holistic, healthy lifestyle”
All this wellness and happiness also makes Art Social Club the perfect place to meet your match – which could happen soon as Jana is planning to host singles nights at the studio!
She is also looking forward to opening up a pop up with another small, female-owned matcha business later this year.
